Bottles that Tell a Story
Bottle types, and the locations they are in can tell a very interesting story. Starting with the original Longneck bottle, the longnecks are the ultimate in recycling as each bottle is washed and inspected twice before being refilled and sent back out into the world. Followed by the tried & true 12oz bottle, this glass bottle is an ode to the uncommon, those who have a thirst for something beyond the ordinary. Ale-8 continued to be both innovative and traditional, not creating the ZERO sugar formula until the fourth generation of family owners (around 2003), but still packaging them in the traditional 12oz glass bottle that lexingtonians know and love. Similarly, the Cherry flavor wasnt launched until 2018, and is the first new flavor since the company began bottling The Original in 1926. Though limited in availability, Ale-8 Freeze can be found in select local and family-owned restaurants and convenience stores around Kentucky, and definitely worth the trip to find. Canned Ale-8 brings about a differnt kind of exclusivity, as only the Original, ZERO, and Caffeine free Ale-8's come in twelve pack cans. Given the story of the bottles, as well as the location they are sold, Ale-8-one continues to tell the story of Kentucky, even almost a century later.
